Last updated: 10 June 2026
This policy explains what personal information The African Pantry collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over it. We have written it in plain English because we believe you deserve to understand it easily.
1. Who we are
The African Pantry is an online retailer that ships Nigerian and African dry goods to customers in Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. You can contact us at helloafricanpantry@gmail.com.
2. What information we collect
We only collect information you actively give us. When you submit an order request through our website or contact us on WhatsApp, we may receive:
- Your full name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Your delivery address (street, city, country, postal code)
- The items and quantities you are requesting
- Any notes you choose to add
We do not collect payment card information on this website. Payments are arranged separately after we have sent you a quote.
We do not use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics), tracking pixels, or advertising cookies. We do not track your browsing behaviour across other websites.
3. How we use your information
We use the information you give us solely to:
- Respond to your order enquiry
- Send you a price quote and delivery estimate
- Arrange and fulfil your order if you confirm it
- Send shipping updates once your order has been dispatched
- Reply to any follow-up questions from you
We will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Third-party services
We use a small number of trusted services to operate the website. Each one processes your data in accordance with its own privacy policy.
Web3Forms
When you submit the order form, your information is transmitted to Web3Forms (web3forms.com), which delivers it to our inbox. Web3Forms processes data in accordance with its privacy policy. Form submissions are not stored long-term by Web3Forms.
EmailJS
We use EmailJS (emailjs.com) to send you an automated acknowledgement email immediately after you submit the form. EmailJS processes only the name and email address you provided. See the EmailJS privacy policy.
Google Fonts
Our website loads typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). When your browser requests a font file, Google's servers receive your IP address and browser user agent. Google may log this information in accordance with its privacy policy. Google Fonts does not set cookies on your device.
5. Cookies
The African Pantry itself does not set any cookies on your device. The only third-party service that may log network-level data is Google Fonts (see above). We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
6. How long we keep your information
We keep your order enquiry details in our email inbox for as long as needed to fulfil and follow up on your order. If your order does not proceed, we will not retain your details beyond a reasonable period for correspondence. You may ask us to delete your information at any time by emailing helloafricanpantry@gmail.com.
